I went on a mission trip to Amsterdam this past summer. Not only did I get close to my team of three others, but I truly fell in love with the Dutch. They are so chill, easy-going, and helpful (although, when they help you, they come off as rude, but are not at all!) The picture below is of on of the most famous spots in Amsterdam! Fun fact, Amsterdam has the most canals in the world (yes more than Venice).
Oh wow, Cameron, this is great: I love Amsterdam!!! I lived in England for a while, and whenever I went to the continent that was an excuse to go to Amsterdam on the way. Such a lovely city... and great museums too! That is a place I would go back to in a heartbeat, and I hope you will get to go back again there someday too! Someone did a project in this class last semester of Dutch stories; you might enjoy taking a look at that one: The Little Dutch Store: My Adventure to the Netherlands. I learned some new Dutch legends from her project, very fun stuff! :-)
ReplyDeleteHey, Cameron! That is so cool that you went to Amsterdam for a mission trip. I normally don’t think of the Netherlands as a mission trip destination, but you’re so right – there’s mission work that can be done anywhere. I bet it was absolutely beautiful there – I’m hoping to visit one day. I had no idea they had more canals than Venice, though – that’s too cool!
ReplyDeleteI just commented on your Introduction and am now choosing to comment on this post. Amsterdam sounds like a wonderful place to visit. I would love to go there someday. That's on my bucket list, of course. Lol
ReplyDeleteI would actually like to visit all of the countries in that part of the world, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to visit them all. The image you chose is so beautiful with all the lights on the canals and the scenery too. It definitely makes me more interested to go there now. Thanks for the interesting bit of trivia too. I had no idea they had more canals than Venice. Thanks for sharing and take care!
